REAL BODIES: WHEN DEATH BECOMES ART

REAL BODIES: WHEN DEATH BECOMES ART

If you are fascinated by the human body and the Vitruvian man, you can’t miss the Gunther Von Hagens exhibition dedicated to anatomy and death.

Real bodies of real people donated to art stand out in an incredible and exceptional exhibition that can be visited until May 5, 2019 at Lambrate (Milan) in the Spazio Ventura.

Here you can find twelve sections, each one dedicated to an apparatus of the human body. You will be surprised by the relation between Leonardo da Vinci’s anatomical studies and the authentic organs and bodies present in this event. After all, the research of the Italian scientist and artist is still a constant reference for scholars and lovers of medicine and art.

Among the sections of the exhibition there are those ones dedicated to biomechanics, comparative anatomy and immortality through the exposition of techniques that allow the conservation of bodies after death.

There will also be space for technology lovers as evidenced by exoskeletons, bionic hand and eyes, prosthesis, synthetic skin and nerves.

Don’t forget the sections dedicated to organs damaged by smoking, alcohol and drugs, in other words by incorrect and dangerous lifestyles.

I suggest you not to miss this evocative and provocative exhibition. Even if it seems to give space only to the final part of life, in reality it expresses fully the deep sense of preciousness, uniqueness and vitality.

If you have the opportunity to visit this exhibition, let us know what you think about it.
